There’s a lot of online chatter about Joonie, the charming baby elephant that was discovered abandoned and saved by a team of animal welfare advocates in Thailand. Her large, innocent eyes and lively disposition have captivated a wide audience, including P’Bob, a volunteer who has committed to caring for her for one day.
P’Bob, an animal enthusiast, was excited to finally meet Joonie and spend some quality time with her. He traveled to Mae Wang, Chiang Mai, where her enclosure was located, but couldn’t help feeling a bit anxious about what awaited him.
As P’Bob approached the enclosure, he was delighted to see Joonie joyfully playing with branches and leaves. With a smile on his face, he walked closer and extended his hand to give her a gentle pet.
Much to P’Bob’s amazement, Joonie immediately warmed up to him, affectionately rubbing against his hand and frolicking with him. With renewed confidence, P’Bob made the decision to take Joonie for a stroll within the enclosure.
As they strolledaong, P’Bob couldn’t contain his happiness. He adored elephants but had never had the opportunity to care for one before. Now, with Joonie by his side, he felt like he was contributing to a significant change. After their walk, P’Bob thought of giving Joonie a bath. A bucket of water was filled, and he poured it gently over her back. Joonie appeared to enjoy this, as she playfully splashedaound in the water. Throughout the day, P’Bob continued to look after Joonie, from feeding her to playing with her. Although a few minor accidents occurredaong the way, such as Joonie accidentally knocking over a bucket of water, P’Bob felt like he was doing an excellent job. At the end of the day, P’Bob said goodbye to Joonie with sadness. However, he took pride in knowing that he had made a difference in her life, even if it was only for a day. Who knows, he might get another chance to care for her someday. If you wish to support Joonie and other elephants like her, consider joining the “Story ช้างไnย” YouTube channel.
